Open Position: Job Cost Accountant /Project Engineer-Anaheim, CA
 

Responsible for the reduction in the Company’s financial surplus and increasing profits. Determining actual costs of providing a service Scrutinizing associated company expenses Analyzing profitability Preparing the Company’s budget Planning, studying and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor Analyzing data collected and recording results Analyzing changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided to determine effects on cost Recording cost information for use in controlling expenditures Analyzing audits of costs and preparing reports Making estimates of new and proposed product costs Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services. Maintaining Cost Accounting System (Vista by Viewpoint) Conducts physical inventories and monitors equipment cycle count program Reconciles finished goods inventories Works closely with management Project Engineer Functions: Responsible for managing and supporting the field operations on projects, while understanding and accomplishing the customer’s goals and protecting and promoting the interests of the Company. Ensures Foremen and Crews have materials, equipment and information necessary to complete jobs Manage project-specific materials and equipment purchases including: sourcing, maintaining vendor relations, ordering and tracking deliveries, uploading of PO’s and receiving and processing invoices Prepare and issue purchasing documents (i.e. Subcontracts, Purchasing Orders, Service Agreements) with the Project Manager. Assist with the preparation of estimates, projected costs and costs to complete for each project, to maintain purchasing control. Update software with new pricing as needed. Support field in expediting the schedule, completion of field paperwork and expediting materials Support Operations and Project Managers with client communication regarding project schedules Maintain customer relationships Collaborate with Project Foremen and Project Managers to prepare and submit Change Orders to the customers Assist and support Project Managers by attending project meetings with General Contractor, Owner, Architect and others Attend and setup punch list walk through as needed; compile the punch list and forward to Project Manager and Foreman Provide required closeout information to the client at the end of the project (record drawings, O&M, warranties) Assist PM to make sure the project is 100% closed out with Accounting Keep up to date on industry trends Foster positive communications and relationships with team members, management, vendors and clients Job Requirements: Minimum of 2 solid years of Cost Accounting in a Construction Environment Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Project Management, Project Engineering or Construction related field. Years of experience in a similar or related position will be considered in lieu of degree. Ability to work in an office environment as well as in the field as requested Must have a strong Cost systems background and have excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles. Computer Literate – Strong Excel skills and the ability to use Outlook and Word Must have Vista by Viewpoint experience Ability to learn Company specific software as needed or required Proven track record working with people, teams and projects Ability to work independently, within a team and in a diverse workforce Experience working with engineering and construction personnel on development and analysis of cost standards Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports Ability to travel as needed Ability to pass a background check and drug test

Open Position: Grading Foreman-Anaheim, CA

General engineering firm is seeking a dependable and organized Foreman to join our successful and growing team immediately. The Foreman will be responsible for managing the on-site operations, directing and supervising field personnel, maintaining good communication with the project superintendent and enforcing company safety standards, while meeting project deadlines. Duties: Responsible for the safety, production, and quality of mass earthmoving operations involving 657 scrapers and other support equipment. Complete and submit various paperwork related to safety, equipment, daily costs etc. Process, verify and approve personnel time cards. Coordination and cooperation with other onsite operations is necessary. Ensures that safety, compliance, environmental, and OSHA requirements are followed at all times. Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operation areas at all times. Ensures that safety, compliance, environmental, and OSHA requirements are followed at all times. Performs miscellaneous job‐related duties as assigned. Job Requirements: Reliable attendance. Grade checking capabilities. Familiarity with mass earth moving best practices and principles. Must be able to work independently and within a team. Must be able to work in a safety-conscious manner. Must be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold, and other unusual elements, such as loud noise, dirt, dust, fumes, etc. Capable of personnel management and accountability. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, overtime and weekends as required. Preferred: GPS experience. Ability to proficiently operate a scraper, motor grader, loader, compactor, dozer or excavator.
